Meet the team behind the Beckham Bee Foundation!

Bridget Kraus

Co-Founder

Assistant Professor and Occupational Therapist,
University of Missouri

I'm Bridget, Co-Founder of The Beckham Bee Foundation and mom to Beckham and Otto. TBBF was founded from our experiences as a family in expecting, loving, and missing Beckham who lived with a critical congenital heart defect. Beckham taught me more than I can put to words, but one of the biggest lessons was how invaluable making and preserving family memories was, regardless of your circumstances. After Beck's passing, it was these memories that I clung to, and these memories that inspired TBBF. Each core service we offer: Beck's Book Bundles and The Hospital Playbook, Keepsake Trunks, The Beckham Hughes Congenital Heart Disease Research Fund, and The Heart and Spirit Grant-- exists because of a need or a gap in support that our family felt. My hope is that we now stand in that gap for families walking a similar journey. And that we do so with love- Because of Beck.

Marilia Cavalcanti Bento

Treasurer

Director, FP&A - Citi

Marília Cavalcanti was born in Brazil and now calls New York City home, where she lives with her husband and carries the memory of their beloved daughter Maya close to her heart.

With over 15 years of experience at a global financial institution, Marília serves as a Financial Planning & Analysis Director, bringing expertise in financial strategy and processes.

Her connection to The Beckham Bee Foundation grew from her own grief. When Maya passed, the Foundation's Memory Trunk initiative gave Marília and her husband a way to honor and preserve their daughter's story. Now, as Treasurer, she aims to transform that experience into purpose and is dedicated to ensuring that families walking the same heartbreaking path never have to walk alone.

Caytlyn Hermann

Chief Celebrations Officer

Hi I’m Caytlyn aka Cayt! A little bit about me personally…my world revolves around my fur babies and being an Aunt. I love puzzles and music too! I spend as much time as possible with my friends and family just being together.

I became a board member of The Beckham Bee Foundation at its initiation after the loss of my sweet nephew, Beckham. Through his legacy, his light continues to shine in our lives, and the lives of others.

As a board member, my passion is celebrating children who are facing difficult journeys and families of loss. Every child deserves to be remembered, honored, and celebrated. Not just on special occasions, but every single day.

Colby Kraus

Co-Founder

I'm Colby, Co-Founder of The Beckham Bee Foundation and dad to Beckham and Otto. Bridget said it best, so I'll add this: being Beck's dad taught me that showing up for a family in their hardest moment doesn't require having the right words—it just requires showing up. That's what we're trying to do for every family we reach. With love. Because of Beck.
